Walker Central 1 Wallington 3
John Paxton bagged a brace as Wallington lifted the Bay
Plastics Challenge Cup.
The Greens raced into an early lead when Sam Walton fired in
from the penalty spot in the 8th minute and they doubled their
advantage just five minutes later when Paxton latched onto a poor back pass and
tucked away into the net.
Walker
were left with a mountain to climb when Paxton added his second in the 69th
minute.
They did have a great chance to get back in it when they
were awarded a penalty but could only groan as it was missed.
Central sub Christopher Hamilton did hit a consolation in
the 85th minute but it couldn’t dampen the celebrations for
Wallington boss Stephen Cowan, who was delighted to lift some silverware before
his retirement at the end of the season.
