Northern Alliance Round Up 28/12/13



The high winds and rain again had an effect on the Northern Alliance programme, with five games falling foul of the weather.
Blyth Town had Ian Lee and Malcolm Morien on target against Percy Main as they retained top spot in the Premier Division.
Lee struck from close range in the 225th minute and Morien fired in the second from the edge of the box in the 81st.
John Paxton slammed in a first half double as Wallington went back into second place with a storming win at Red House Farm.
Sam Walton and Jordan Nellis were also on the scoresheet for the Greens, with Alex Benjamin notching the reply.
Cramlington Town lead Division One by five points as they beat Wooler.
Jordan Watson put Town ahead after Fraser Tait’s penalty for the visitors had been saved. Second half strikes from David Mason and Danny McDonald sealed the three points, with Tom Parr netting for the Glendale side.
Gateshead Redheugh had Ryan Davenport and Robbie Frame (2) on target at Ponteland United, but the black and whites came from behind to win it with goals from Craig Cook, Andrew Davidson (2) and Daniel Wright (2).
Derek Waters struck twice in Chopwell’s victory at Gateshead Leam Rangers that took them up into third.
Chris Muncaster and Craig Willis got the others, Louis Meach and James Fenwick replying.

Northern Alliance round up 21/12/13



David Atkinson (2), Ian Lee, Malcolm Morien and Johnny Mann netted for new leaders Blyth Town in their victory over Walssend Town, who had Paul Thompson (2) on the scoresheet.
Lee Donnelly and Danny Young shot Killingworth Station in front at Percy Main.
Chris Tate added a third after the break, with Gareth Armstrong netting a reply.
Goals from Steve Hurd jnr (pen), Jack Foalle and James Walker gave Walker Central a comfortable win over Rutherford while Michael Fenwick marked his return to Seaton Delaval with the only goal against Northbank, within sixty seconds of kick-off.
Chemfica were denied a win at Willington Quay Saints when Steve McLaughlin’s goal was cancelled out by Mark Henderson two minutes from time.
Tavis Couling and Andrew Renton fired in for Gosforth Bohs as they shared the spoils with Bedlington Terriers Reserves, whose marksmen were Jon-James Eke and Andrew Alexander.
Aiden Armstrong’s double helped Hexham to a good win at Cullercoats. Matthew Blackith got the other with Michael Moor and Michael Thompson replying.
Darren Burn fired in a first half brace for AFC Newbiggin but they were pegged back by replies from Blyth Isabella’s Michael Meins and Dan Long after the break.
Loius Meach (2), Chris Hayles, Lewis Conroy, James Fenwick, Phillip Creed and Tony Falconer all hit the back of the net for Gateshead Leam Rangers as they inflicted a heavy defeat on struggling Cramlington United.
Grainger Park’s Dwayne Murray, Jordan Allin, Lotanna Adibe and Jordan Jones all struck in the opening 45 minutes against Whitburn Athletic, but an end-to-end encounter ended all square as Dan Nolan (2), Andrew Smith and Grant Pressling scored at the other end.
James Keeling and Ashley Robinson were on target for Wideopen as they beat West Allotment Celtic A, Daniel Surley grabbing a consolation.

Northern Alliance Round Up 14/12/13



Whitley Bay A suffered only their third defeat of the season as Stocksfield turned on the style.
Gav Watt, Ben Murdock and Keiron Day netted for the Griffins, with Connor Johnson replying for the Seahorses, who were knocked off top spot as Sam Walton struck twice and Jack Palmer, Adam Whitehead and John Paxton added the others with Wallington cruising to an impressive victory at Killingworth Station – and into pole position.
Northbank went ahead at Red House Farm when Andrew Griffiths netted, but Robert Nolan soon replied with a double and Shane Brooks added a third.
Gareth Armstrong and Shaun Smith fired Percy main into a half time lead at Rutherford, who hit back after the break courtesy of Eddie Keenan and Daniel Johnstone.
Ashington Colliers scorers were Joe Moscrop, Darren Riddel (2) and Anth Watson in a seven-goal thriller at Wallsend Town, who had Dekka Graham (2) and Paul Smith on the scoresheet.
Cristen Priest’s winner for Cramlington Town at Bedlington Terriers Reserves put them back on top of Division One.
Newcastle Uni’s Jack Taylor hit the only goal against Heddon while Craig Dunn and Tom Illingworth netted for New Fordley at Willington Quay Saints, who pulled one back through Glen Johnson, in just his second game back on the bench after 21 months out of action.
Andy Renton, Louis O’Donoghue and Tavis Couling fired home for Bohemians as they beat Birtley Saint Josephs. Shaun Todhunter pulled one back.
An Andrew Davidson penalty and a second from Dan Wright put Ponteland United in charge at Cullercoats, who came back strongly after the interval to take a point with Martin Wardale grabbing a double.
David Short struck twice as Division Two leaders Longbenton got back on track at Gateshead Leam Rangers.
Anthony Brown and Alex Nesbit got the others with Louis Meach and Jonny Dobson the Rangers hit-men.
Chris Carr, Stephen Baker and David Hewitt all scored in the first half as Seaton Burn beat High Howdon and late strikes from John Sommerville and Brad McEvoy gave Grainger Park the points at Wideopen, who got a consolation through Johnny Lowes while Wallsend Boys Club were 4-1 winners at Chopwell. Malik Kalimba struck twice with Phillip Bell and Michael Starkie getting the others.
Malcolm Morien and David Atkinson both struck four times as Blyth Town demolished a depleted Hebburn Reyrolle to go into the semi-finals of the Archers of Blyth George Dobbins League Cup. Josh Miller, Ian Lee and Connor Andrews got the others.
A Chris Rue penalty and further goals from Lee Gustard and Paul Dunn put Shankhouse through against a spirited young Newcastle Benfield Reserves and Scott Jasper bagged a brace as North Shields Athletic claimed Walker Central’s scalp.
Sean Kersbro got the other – John Robson replying.
Steve McLaughlin hit a hat-trick as Newcastle Chemfica came from behind to win a thriller against Gateshead Redheugh.
Garick Murphy-Collins, Dan Sherliker and Leeds Laidler got the others, with Liam Henderson (pen), Robbie Frame, Andy May and Paul Silcock crashing home at the other end.
Carlisle City were left stunned as Andy Geddis met a corner at the far post five minutes from the end to send Second Division Alnwick Town Reserves into the semi-finals of the Bluefin Group Bill Gardner Memorial Trophy.
Dan Long netted twice as Blyth Isabella cruised through to join them. Andrew Haigh, Dan Carr and Dan Hislop added the others, with Danny Igo scoring for visitors Swalwell.
Premier Division Seaton Delaval were also 5-1 winners to book a last four berth. Second Division Whitburn Athletic held them until half-time, but Stephen Howes grabbed a hat-trick after the interval. Youngster Michael Scott fired in a stunning effort from 40 yards and Christian Graham completed the scoring. The Whitburn consolation came from an own goal.
Fraser Tait shot home for First Division Wooler but goals from Darren Burn (2) and Mick Angus gave Second Division AFC Newbiggin a good win in the Northumberland FA Minor Cup.

Northern Alliance round up 07/12/13



They love goalscoring goalkeepers in Carlisle. Who can forget Jimmy Glass’s magical last gasp winner that kept Carlisle United in the Football League in 1999?
Northbank’s Stewart Hill charged up the field against Wallington with four minutes to go and the Cumbrians trailing to Jack Palmer’s first half strike.
Sprinkle some magic dust and would you believe it – Hill rose to head the equaliser into the net as the flag kick flew into the area, sparking pandemonium.
There was a late goal at Shankhouse, too as Peter Snowdon grabbed a winner with just two minutes to go against Wallsend Town.
Dekka Graham struck twice for the visitors but Noel Hanlon and Scott Young were also on target for Shankhouse.
Walker Central’s Dan Quine netted from the penalty spot with four minutes to go at Carlisle City, but it proved no more than a consolation as the Sky Blues led through an own goal and a Rob McCartney strike.
Curtis Miller fired in from 25 yards in the dying minutes for Percy Main as they came from behind to beat Ashington Colliers.
Former Villager Chris Glass shot the visitors ahead but the Main turned things around with a Gareth Armstrong double to lift themselves off the bottom.
They are replaced by Hebburn Reyrolle, who cancelled a out a Stephen Howes opener for hosts Seaton Delaval with a Johnny Basham strike.
Mark Roper netted a hat-trick in Killingworth Station’s comfortable win at Rutherford with Mark Dixon also on the scoresheet while John Amos headed the only goal for Blyth Town as they beat leaders Whitley Bay A.
Rees Farndell, Martin Soulsby and Robert Nolan chalked up strikes for Red House Farm in their Bay Plastics Challenge Cup quarter final success at Stocksfield, who had Phil Murray on target twice.
Lee Cuthbertson grabbed an injury time equaliser as Birtley Saint Jospehs came from behind twice at Cramlington Town to take a point in a Division One promotion clash.
Kev Long put Town ahead but Martin Guy levelled.  Lee Richardson scored to put Town back in front but Cuthbertson struck at the death.
Liam Henderson slotted a hat-trick in Redheugh’s demolition job on Heddon. Kev Hay (2), Dale Robson, John Dewhirst, Sean Best, Zak Atkinson, Ryan Davenprt and Andy May added the others while Newcastle Uni came from 2-0 down to surprise New Fordley. Louis Boddy struck twice in the opening ten minutes for the hosts but goals from James Golby (2), Jesse Walkin (2), Michael Spencer and Jens Knudsen gave the Students a good victory.
Sean Reid struck twice as Grainger Park surprised Division Two leaders Longbenton.
Jordan James also fired in for the West Enders and it could have been more but Bulls keeper Martin Dixon pulled off two penalty saves. Pete Webster got the consolation.
Swalwell’s David Jeffers was the hero in the Gateshead derby with an 86th minute winner against Leam Rangers and Malik Kalimba netted a double – including a real cracker – as Wallsend Boys Club beat Wideopen. Michael Starkie got the other, with Will Nutman replying.

Northumberland FA Minor Cup

20-year-old Joe Collins grabbed a treble on his debut for Newcastle Chemfica Independent as they eased into the fourth round of the Northumberland FA minor Cup.
Chemfica must be one of the favourites in the competition this year, and added a fourth through Phil Deighton.
Dan Carr went one better with four in Blyth Isabella’s demolition of Amble St Cuthberts. Jake Miller, Dan Long, Dan Hislop, Matt Lavender and Paul Huck added the others, with Ethan Iredale and Liam Ramsey netting for the visitors.
Richard May was another hat-trick hero in Cullercoat’s success against Rothbury, who had Richard Hooks on target, while Louis O’Donoghue also netted a hat-trick in Bohemians 7-1 win at Bamburgh Castle. Darren Campbell, Daniel Ure, Chris Toye and Peter Gadsen got the others.
Mark Race had a claim on the matchball with three in Bedlington Terriers Reserves’ win over Seaton Burn, with John Sutcliffe netting a consolation and Thomas Skidmore also grabbed three as Ponteland United ran in seven against Lindisfarne Athletic. Andrew Davidson, Liam Anderson, Chris Hibbitt and Peter Scott got the others.
Steven Thompson, Tom Clarke and Chris Walker scored for Newcastle Benfield reserves as they came from behind to win at Gosforth Bohs A.
Ryan Ferrier struck twice with Gareth Pugh and Sean Blakey getting the others in Willington Quay Saints victory at Stobswood Welfare, who had Stephen Tweddle on the scoresheet while North Shields Athletic beat Tweedmouth Rangers 4-1.
Dan Surley, Sam Harwood, Ben Jackson, Sean Allen and Guy-Michael Monnanou were West Allotment Celtic A’s scorers as they beat Alnwick Town Reserves, who struck through Dominic Schiavetta and Neil McFall.
Highfields United were unable to raise a team to play at Hexham, so the Tynedalers had an easy passage while the highly anticipated clash between Wooler and AFC Newbiggin was abandoned after 15 minutes as the Wooler goalkeeper suffered a serious injury.
Cramlington United were left red-faced as they crashed out of the competition 4-3 at home to Newcastle City and High Howdon were dumped out at Newcastle Barca Rovers on penalties.

Durham FA Minor Cup

When the Wearhead United keeper could only parry Craig Willis’s 18 yard shot in the 57th minute, Ryan Lowes nipped in to head the rebound into the net to put Chopwell through while Whitburn Athletic were 3-2 winners over Seaham Marlborough after extra time.

Northern Alliance round up 30/11/13



Whitley Bay A’s Michael Clement, Connor Johnson and Ryan Redford netted in the first half at Seaton Delaval as they maintained a four point advantage at the top. Daniel Young pulled one back.
Wallington leapfrogged Blyth Town into second as they came back from trailing to a Chris Lyle header to take the points with goals from Justin Millican and a brace from Sam Walton – one coming from the penalty spot.
Walker Central kept pace with a goal in each half at Percy Main from George Weatherly and Anthony Studholme while Stocksfield’s Gavin Watt and a late Declan Stokle strike gave them victory at Hebburn Reyrolle, who had levelled through Adam Finch.
Paul Dunn netted a hat-trick in the Shankhouse success at Rutherford. Chris Rue and Niall Younger got the others while Michael Turner (2), Lee Donnelly and Chris Tate fired in for Killingworth Station against Ashington Colliers, who struck courtesy of Darren Riddell, Matty Graham and Matthew Turner.
Goals from Martin Soulsby and Paul Newton Eddy handed Red House Farm the win at Carlisle City, who pulled one back late on through Rob McCartney and Ricky James and Josh Calvert were the Northbank targetmen at Wallsend Town, who had Gav Jones on the scoresheet.
Newcastle Chemfica went top of Division One with goals from Garrick Murphy Collins (2), Dean Laycock, Steve McLaughlin and an own goal as they stunned promotion rivals North Shields Athletic.
Previous leaders Cramlington Town crashed to a surprise defeat at Hexham, who had Liam Heenan (2) and Kurtis Harvey crash home.
Lee Waugh put New Fordley ahead from the penalty spot, but Cullercoats levelled with a penalty from Luke Ferguson. With just two minutes left, New Fordley’s Stephen Bourne stepped up and made no mistake with a third spot-kick to win it.
Ponteland United’s Craig Cook and Stephen Rae put them in charge against Newcastle Uni but the Students hit back through Joe Watson and a stoppage time leveller from Charlie Pilkington.
Tavis Couling struck twice in Bohs win over Willington Quay Saints. Lois O’Donoghue, Daniel Ure and Marcus Burn got the others with Kane Chirnside (2) and an own goal making up Saints tally.
Lee Cuthbertson (2), Chris Morris and Shaun Todhunter netted for Birtley Saint Josephs at Heddon, who had Dan Robinson chalk one up while Bedlington Terriers Reserves beat Wooler 3-0.
Liam Henderson, Robbie Frame and Alan Pegram were Redheugh’s hit-men in a good win over Coxhoe Athletic in the Durham FA Trophy, leaving them the only Alliance side left in the competition.
Chris Sword struck twice for Division Two leaders Longbenton, but visitors Seaton Burn hit two in reply to take a point.
AFC Newbiggin moved level on points as Ross Muter, Jonathon McEnaney, Gary Bailes and Simon Wilson fired in at Swalwell. Simon Young pulled one back.
Whitburn Athletic beat Wallsend Boys Club with a double from Daniel Wilson and a Jonathon Doyle strike while Blyth Isabella romped to a 7-3 win at Chopwell.
Derek Waters, Rowland Lee and Daniel Owen struck for the stunned hosts. Andy Carr fired Cramlington United ahead against Alnwick Town but Ryan Taylor levelled and goals from Andy Gowing, Jordan Jones, Dwayne Murray and Robert Jefferson ensured three points for Grainger Park at West Allotment Celtic A, who replied through Ben Jackson.
Early goals from Mark Ord, Ashley Robinson and Tommy-Lee Bainbridge gave Wideopen a dream start against High Howdon.
Newcastle Benfield Reserves went into round four of the Archers of Blyth George Dobbins League Cup with goals from William Walker, Aiden Bell, Ben Jefferson and James Carr against Gateshead Leam Rangers, who hit back through Lee Turnbull (2) and Jonny Dobson.

Northern Alliance round up 23/11/13



In-form Andrew Robertson hit a hat-trick and Connor Johnson bagged a brace as Whitley Bay A maintained pole position with a win over Wallsend Town in a scrappy affair. Derek Graham and Paul Thompson replied.
Gavin Watt gave Stocksfield the lead at Blyth Town, but the hosts hit back with goals from Christopher Bell and Danny Beresford, with a Josh Miller effort securing the three points.
Mason Stephenson and Stewart Wright were on target for Seaton Delaval Amateurs at Percy Main, who pulled one back late on through sub Sam Thompson while a hat-trick from Kevin Bruynson gave Rutherford the win over Ashington Colliers. Steven Slaughter notched for the visitors in injury time.
Martin Urwin, Johnny Basham, Alex Lovett and Aiden McCafferty crashed in for Hebburn Reyrolle in their victory over Wallington, who struck through Dan Thompson, and despite having John Robson, Carl Begbie and Matty Hayton on target, Walker Central were denied three points when Northbank sub Ross Irving grabbed a late leveller. Josh Calvert and Lee McDermott also scored for the Cumbrians.
Willington Quay Saints took an early lead against Cullercoats when Anrew Breheny hit the net, but the visitors turned things around with goals from Luke Ferguson and Richard May.
Heddon’s Dan Robinson struck twice in an important win over New Fordley. Connor Brown got the other, Craig Dunn bagging a brace for the visitors while table toppers Cramlington Town were held by Wooler. Although Adam Shanks and Ryan Jones netted for Town, Wooler had Stuart Bertram and Jamie Punton on target.
Dan Clements and James Golby both hit doubles in Newcastle Uni’s success against Bedlington terriers Reserves, who struck thanks to Andy Alexandra and Mark Race, while Redheugh’s Liam Henderson, Kevin Hay, John Dewhirst and Shaun Best shared the goals at Hexham, who got a consolation through Aiden Armstrong.
Longbenton’s Pete Webster was their hat-trick hero at Wideopen, with Chris Sword also netting and David Gabbitus chalking a reply.
AFC Newbiggin kept pace with goals from Ross Muter (2), Gary Bailes and Tony Messenger at Grainger Park, with Kirk Fleming and Robert Jefferson celebrating for the home side.
Daniel Surley’s hat-trick was the highlight of West Allotment Celtic A’s emphatic victory at High Howdon, with Ridi Muteba, Ben Jackson and Sean Allen also getting on the scoresheet and Ryan Errington hitting a consolation while Aiden Bell struck four times in Newcastle Benfield Reserves’ demolition of Swalwell. Jack Gourley got the other and David McDermott replied. Neither side could hit the target at Cramlington United, who took a point off Whitburn in a goalless stalemate.
Second half headers from Craig Foster and Kevin Regan booked Chopwell a spot in the Bluefin Group Amateur Cup semi finals as they saw off Alnwick Town Reserves.
They are joined in the last four by Wallsend Boys Club, who had Michael Starkie (2), Nicky Whitelaw and Karl Morrison on target at Seaton Burn, who pulled one back thanks to a Dave Hewitt jnr penalty, and goals from Thomas Williams and James Fenwick saw Gateshead Leam Rangers to an extra time success against Blyth Isabella. Jake Miller struck for the visitors.

Alliance Round Up 16/11/13



Whitley Bay A’s Connor Johnson hit the only goal of the game at Red House Farm to put the Seahorses top of the table.
Sam Walton (2 pens), Chris Moffit, Ben Fenwick and Dan Thompson netted for Wallington in an end-to-end encounter with Wallsend Town, who came back from 3-0 down to level with goals from Liam Anderson (2) and Jordan Jones while Rutherford led at Killingworth Station with goals from Will Forsyth and Sam Moore, but the Station hit back with strikes from Michael Bowman, Mark Covell, Lee Hamilton and Chris Tate, with Jimmy Davidson getting a third for the unlucky visitors.
Cramlington Town led Blyth Town with just seconds to go in the Archers of Blyth George Dobbins League Cup third round – but Malcolm Morien levelled and Blyth added four more in extra time from Chris Bell, David Atkinson (2) and Ian Heron.
David Mason and Jordan Watson scored for the hosts, Morien also getting the first eqauliser.
John Robson hit a late winner as Walker Central were given a scare by Second Division Wallsend Boys Club. Nicky Whitelaw and Michael Starkie both hit doubles for Boys Club, who led twice, with James Walker, Matty Hayton (2) and Paul Hollier getting the others for Central.
Redheugh advanced with goals from Kev Hay, Alan Pegram and John Dewhirst in their success over Birtley Saint Josephs, who had Lee Cuthbertson on target.
Shankhouse led with goals from Anth Moran and Adam Bambrough against Ashington Colliers, who took the game to extra time with late strikes from Liam Taylor and Shaun Gibson. Shankhouse took the tie 4-3 on penalties.

Max Zabourus (2), Scott Jasper and Matty Donkin scored for North Shields Athletic as they advanced at the expense of New Fordley, who hit back twice through Louis Boddy.
Wideopen went in front at Seaton Delaval with David Gabbitus’s early strike and they were unlucky not to add a second when they hit the woodwork, but Daniel Young led the Delaval fightback with a hat-trick. Stephen Howes and Andy Wright were also on target in their Bluefin Group Bill Gardner Memorial Trophy tie.
Dan Long (2) and Dan Carr were Blyth Isabella’s marksmen in their victory over Bedlington Terriers Reserves, who netted through Mark Race, while Andrew Kiddell and Andrew Robertson slotted home for Alnwick Town Reserves in their win at High Howdon SC.
Ross Muter (2), Mick Angus, Kris Allington and John Bone scored for AFC Newbiggin as they beat Cramlington United, who scored through Callum Nixon, while Grainger Park led with strikes from Nathan Lowdon and Jordan Allin, but visitors Whitburn advanced with strikes from Andrew Smith, Jack Fawcett and Adam Carrick.
Cullercoats’ Chris Gillespie, Scott Andrews and Steven Moat fired in as they beat West Allotment Celtic A, whose striker was Andy Massaba, while Percy Main went in front at Carlisle City through Daniel Sneap. Josh Simpson levelled for the Cumbrians and took the tie to extra time, where Ashley Coombe hit the winner for City with two minutes to go.
First half goals from Jesse Walkin and Tom Wilcox gave Newcastle Uni three points at Willington Quay Saints in Division One and Wooler’s Michael Saunders netted twice as they won at Hexham. Kevin Bell got the other, with Mark Gibson and Dean Barnard the Tynedale side’s scorers.
Andrew Renton bagged a brace in Bohs win at Heddon. Paul Dixon got the other, with Steven Sattherthwaite netting a reply.
Longbenton went top of Division Two as Anthony Brown hit a hat-trick at Swalwell. Chris Sword got the other in a good win.
Ryan Gibson (2), Liam Grant and Robert Allen were Gateshead Leam Rangers’ scorers at Seaton Burn, who bagged a consolation courtesy of Ryan Spragg and it ended honours even at Chopwell who had Mark Campbell (2) and Stuart Rook on target against Newcastle Benfield Reserves. Aiden Bell (2) and Sam Rutter replied.

Northern Alliance round up 09/11/13



Blyth Town leapfrogged Walker Central into pole position with a goal in each half from Ian Lee and Danny Beresford.
Liam Anderson slammed in a hat-trick as Wallsend Town came from behind to beat Percy Main. Gary Hall got the other after Ross Berkley had given the Villagers an early advantage.
Stocksfield’s Phil Davison also grabbed a treble in an exciting victory over Seaton Delaval. Karl Campbell got the other, Daniel Young, Stewart Wright and Stephen Howes netting at the other end in an end to end game.
Lee Hamilton struck twice in Killingworth Station’s victory over Shankhouse. Martin Roper and Michael Bowman were also on the scoresheet, with Paul Dunn netting for the visitors.
Wallington also won 4-1 against Rutherford, with Sam Walton, John Paxton, Justin Millican and Dan Thompson on target for the Greens while it ended all square in the Carlisle derby – Mark Worrall shooting Northbank ahead and Tom Lucock levelling for Carlisle City.
Dale Pearson’s strike for Red House Farm proved enough to beat Ashington Colliers.

Gateshead Leam Rangers hit Swalwell for six with Michael Tucker netting a hat-trick and Louis Meach, Lewis Conroy and James Fenwick all getting in on the act while Rob Woods and David Short hit Longbenton’s goals in their win over Cramlington United. Kevin Regan, Andy Smith and Andy Sagar were Chopwell’s scorers as they beat High Howdon, who replied through Jason Walsh and Nick Mallon, as it remained as you were at the top.
Blyth Isabella had Dan Hislop, Dan Carr and Jake Miller (2) on the scoresheet against Seaton Burn, who netted courtesy of Liam Purvis, and Peter Murray, Ryan Taylor, Stuart Sullivan and Andrew Robertson slammed home for Alnwick Town Reserves against Wallsend Boys Club, whose goals came from from Nicky Whitelaw and Michael Starkie.

Northern Alliance Round Up 02/11/13



Malcolm Morien fired in the only goal of the game as Blyth Town beat Shankhouse and moved up into second spot.
Red House Farm suffered a blow at Stocksfield who had Gav Watt and Philip Davison hit the net with Patrick Collins hitting the reply.
Darren Riddell shot Ashington Colliers ahead against Carlisle City and although Darren Addison levelled from the spot, the black and whites won it when Joe Moscrop drilled home.
Lee Hamilton was on target for Killingworth Station but Whitley Bay A took a point with a Dillon Blake shot and Percy Main came from behind to draw an exciting game with Northbank.
Nicky Routledge bagged a brace for the Cumbrians and Ricky James got the other with Chris Laidlaw and two Jordan Miller penalties in a minute levelling things up.
John Paxton, Ben Fenwick, Justin Millican and Jordan Nellis beat the keeper for Wallington as they came from behind to beat Seaton Delaval. Stephen Howes and Daniel Young were on target for the visitors.

Northumberland FA Minor Cup Round 2

The majority of Northern Alliance clubs celebrated big wins to advance in the Northumberland FA Minor Cup.
Newcastle Philosophers United were left with plenty to ponder as Cullercoats hit double figures to ease into round three while Jonathon McEnaney struck four times in AFC Newbiggin’s comfortable victory over Bohemians B. Kris Allington grabbed a brace and Michael Angus and Richard Kennedy were also on target.
Aiden Bell netted a hat-trick for Newcastle Benfield Reserves as they were also big winners against Fawdon Park United. Chris Thompson (2), Stephen Thompson, Ben Jefferson (2) and Max Kirkham all got in on the act.
Willington Quay Saints went behind at Ponteland United reserves through a Carl McGuire own goal but hit back with strikes from John Foggett, Ryan Ferrier and Liam Taylor to advance.

Andrew Bennett, Andrew Miley and Chris Baker also found the back of the net.

Wideopen were dumped out 1-0 by West Jesmond and although Wallsend Boys Club had David Coulson, Aiser Goyenchea and Nicky Whitelaw on target, goals from Chris Graham, Matty Graham, Liam Brooks and Josh Hay put Shilbottle CW into the next round.

Rutherford went ahead at Coxhoe Athletic when Mark McMeekin slammed in, but the hosts hit five in reply and Hebburn Reyrolle went down 3-0 at Coundon & Leeholme.
Gateshead Redheugh were left to fly the Alliance flag in the competition as Ryan Davenport hit a hat-trick and Liam Henderson (2), and Andy May, Kev Hay, Robert Frame and John Dewhirst got the others in a 9-3 victory over Wingates.

Northern Alliance round up 26/10/13



Red House Farm moved up into second spot with first half goals from Alex Benjamin and Mark Sheeran (pen) to see off Stocksfield, who hit back just after the interval through Nathan Marshall.
A David Atkinson penalty and Scott Pocklington shot put Blyth Town in control against Seaton Delaval, but the Red Devils hit back with an Andrew Wright penalty and levelled deep into stoppage time when Ryan Hutchinson pounced from a corner.
Wallington marched into the semi-finals of the Bay Plastics Challenge Cup with a resounding 4-0 success at Carlisle City.
Kyle Reardon and Jordan Nellis struck in the first half and John Paxton and Sam Walton, with a penalty, added the others after the break.
League leaders Walker Central also went into the last four with goals from Chris Hamilton, Stephen Hurd jnr (pen) and Matthew Hayton while first half strikes from Michael Clement and Connor Johnson saw Whitley Bay A through against Percy Main, who pulled one back courtesy of Darren Walsh.
Mark Worrall and Ricky Lee James both hit hat-tricks as Northbank overpowered Heddon in the Archers of Blyth George Dobbins League Cup.
Andrew Griffiths and Nicky Routeledge netted the others with Dan Robinson claiming a consolation for the Division One side.

A Frazer Tait own goal completed the tally while Bohemians also pulled off a 4-0 success over Cramlington Town thanks to strikes from Tavis Couling (pen), Nick Thompson, Andrew Dalton and Jon Hewitt.

Andy Sagar grabbed a double in Chopwell’s 4-3 win at Heighington FC in the Durham FA Minor Cup. Derek Waters and Tom Jackson-Bell got the others while Dayne Weir and Nathan Capling hit the back of the net for Whitburn Athletic as they saw off the challenge of Sunderland The Alexandra to progress.

Northern Alliance Round Up 19/10/13



Michael Hogg shot Ashington Colliers in front at Walker Central, but the leaders turned things around with late goals from Carl Begbie and Jack Foalle.
Wallsend Town lost ground on the leaders despite Steve Matthews hitting a hat-trick at Red House Farm. Michael Strachan struck twice for the home side, with Shane Brooks and Alex Benjamin grabbing the others in an exciting game.
Ian Lee hit four in the first half as Blyth Town ran out 10-0 winners over injury-ravaged Rutherford.
Danny Beresford netted a hat-trick and David Atkinson, Scott Pocklington and Malcolm Morien added to the bumper haul.
Shankhouse led at Wallington courtesy of a Chris Rue strike but the Greens turned things around after the break with John Paxton bagging a brace and Jordan Nellis adding a third.
Seaton Delaval’s Stewart Wright, Stephen Howes, Mason Stephenson and Dan Quine were on target in their victory at Hebburn Reyrolle.
Carlisle City went out of the Cumberland Senior Cup as Johnny Allan headed in twice for Celtic nation in the 2nd and 47th minutes while Northbank went out 6-4 at Workington Red Star.
Andy Mogwo and Robbie Eastway both struck doubles as Bedlington Terriers Reserves hit New Fordley for six with Jon Barrett and Mark Race also on the scoresheet while North Shields Athletic maintained pole position as Anthony Keith grabbed a brace, including one from the penalty spot, in a 4-2 win over Ponteland United. Liam Climpson and Scott Jasper netted the others with Christian Collins and Liam Anderson netting for Pont.

Lee Cuthbertson, Anthony Smith and Chris Morris scored for Birtley Saint Josephs in their comfortable success against Hexham while Rob Watson’s strike for Cullercoats was cancelled out by Marcus Burn for Bohemians.
It also ended all-square at Wooler who scored through Stuart Bertram, with Gareth Pugh equalising for Willington Quay Saints.
Longbenton were in seventh heaven as they went top of Division Two with goals from Chris Sword (2), Rob Woods (2), Pete Webster (2) and Anth Brown against Newcastle Benfield Reserves. Wallsend Boys Club also hit seven against Cramlington United with Michael Starkie and Steve McCabe both getting braces and Darren Timmons, Andrew Potter and Carl Morrison also on the scoresheet, Mark Nicholson claiming a consolation.
Imran Collins (2), Robert Jefferson (2) and Tony Leach hit the target for Grainger Park as they beat Swalwell, who replied through James Bowman, and Chris Allington, Chris Waters, Mick Angus and John Bone netted for AFC Newbiggin as they took three points at Whitburn. Craig Mann pulled one back.
Reece Chapman netted twice for West Allotment Celtic A in their success against Alnwick Town Reserves, with James Walker grabbing the other and Andrew Robertson chalking up for Town.
David Gabbitus and Jordan Gilbert fired in for Wideopen in their draw with Seaton Burn, whose scorers were Chris Baker and David Hewitt, while neither side could hit the target as Chopwell were held by Gateshead Leam Rangers in a game of missed chances.

Northern Alliance round up 12/10/13



In the only Premier Division fixture, Darren Addison hit the only goal of the game as Carlisle City won at Percy Main to move up to fourth spot.
Birtley Saint Josephs pulled off a shock in the Archers of Blyth George Dobbins League Cup as Anthony Smith’s 17th minute strike sent the Division One side through against Premier Division Killingworth Station.
There was also a surprise at First Division Ponteland United, who dumped out Premier League Red House Farm thanks to Craig Cook’s 15th minute goal.
And the shocks kept coming thick and fast with Nicky Whitelaw hitting a hat-trick in Wallsend Boys Club’s extra time win at Gateshead Rutherford.
Steve McCabe, David Coulson, Michael Starkie and Sean Latimer added the others with Danny Hill, Sam Moore and Jason Snowball netting for the hosts, who lost their goalkeeper to injury and did not have another on the bench.
Kev Hay (2), Alan Pegram and John Dewhirst were on the scoresheet for Redheugh as they beat Wallington, with Sam Walton (pen) and Adam Whitehead replying while Aiden Bell’s double helped Newcastle Benfield reserves to shock Stocksfield in extra time.
Max Perkin and Richard Bell netted the others with goals from Phil Murray, Ben Dibb-Fuller and Rob Grainey not enough for the Griffins.
Hebburn Reyrolle just avoided a banana skin against Longbenton, who led 2-0 at one point. The Bulls had Paul Pescod and Rob Woods (2) on target, with Reyrolle’s counters coming from Jonny Basham, Matty Scott (2) and Dan Murray.
Joe Moscrop struck twice, one from the penalty spot, as they dumped Whitley Bay A out in an all-Premier affair. Stephen Dodds pulled one back with five minutes to go.
Chris Rue and Paul Dunn (2) struck in quick succession as Shankhouse beat Willington Quay Saints. They took their foot off the gas after the break, with Josh Walsh’s late goal sealing the win and Blyth Town’s David Robertson hit a hat-trick as they avoided any embarrassment at Newcastle Uni. David Atkinson (2) and Dan Beresford added others, with Robbie Sweet notching a consolation.
Big Steve McLaughlin struck twice in Newcastle Chemfica’s victory at Wooler. Dan Sherliker added the other.
Adam Shanks struck three in Cramlington Town’s victory over Hexham, with Danny McDonald, Paul Joisce and Adam Green (pen) adding the others. Dale Dodds netted a consolation. There was also a hat-trick for North Shields Athletic’s Lee Crammond against Seaton Burn. Sean Millington added another, with Ryan Scraggs pulling one back.
Lee Waugh and Louis Boddy both bagged braces in New Fordley’s success at Gosforth Bohs with Robert Ruddick and Keiran Pyle also on the scoresheet. Tavis Couling got a consolation.
Louis Meach, James Fenwick and Lewis Conroy were on target for Gateshead Leam Rangers in another surprise as they saw off Chopwell, who scored through Craig Foster and Derek Waters.
Mark Murtagh’s brace for Heddon gave them a good win at Cullercoats in Division One, with Michael Moore replying and Blyth Isabella moved up to third in Division Two as Michael Meins hit a hat-trick in their win over Grainger Park. Paul Huck got the other and Nathan Lowdon netted for the visitors.
Wideopen’s Stephen Cherry struck twice in a good win at Alnwick Town Reserves with Kev Hunter also on target. Neil McFall scored for Town.
Swalwell’s Geoff Halliday, Matthew Baldwin, Max Ross, Ross taylor and an own goal did the damage at Cramlington United and Liam Donnelly, John Doyle, Nathan Capeling, Adam Bravey and Adam Clark all notched for Whitburn Athletic in an exciting win at West Allotment Celtic A, who netted thanks to Jason Nicholson (2) and Matt Slater.
Luke Molloy (2), Chris Marshall and an own goal looked to have given High Howdon three points at AFC Newbiggin, but the Seasiders hit back through Darren Burn, Jon McEnaney, Richard Kennedy and a last minute Ross Muter header to claim a point in an end-to-end eight goal thriller.

Alliance round up 5/10/13



Mark Worrall bagged four goals in Northbank’s 7-1 drubbing of Gateshead Rutherford in the only Premier Division game.
Lee McDermott, Andrew Griffiths and Jonny McGarva added the others, with Sam Moore notching a consolation.

Fraser Tait and Gareth Pearson added the others but Lowick United hit the only goal as Grainger Park were the only Alliance side to make an early exit.

Lee Hamilton got the other with Mark Worrall (2) and Martin Blair on target for the visitors.
Paul Newton-Eddy also claimed a hat-trick as Red House Farm stormed to a 5-1 success at Shankhouse. Mark Sheeran bagged a brace with Niall Younger netting a consolation.
Danny Hill’s early strike put Rutherford ahead against Whitley Bay A, but the Seahorses hit back four times after the break – Andrew Robertson (2), Alex Kemster and Ryan Keltie scoring.
John Robson’s double helped Walker Central to a 5-3 win over Stocksfield with Nkiriza Suaibu, Matty Hayton and Paul Collinson getting the others. Phil Murray, Ben Dibb-Fuller and Steve Henderson notched for the Griffins.

Liam Lowdon hit two and Alexander Elezar struck the consolation. Aiden Bell slammed home a four minute hat-trick, either side of half time, for Newcastle Benfield Reserves at West Allotment Celtic A. Chris Thompson, Andy McBride and Ben Jefferson got the others, Ben Jackson pulled one back.
Andrew Bennett grabbed four for Seaton Burn in their win at Cramlington United. Craig Jackson added two more and Martin Kelly struck twice in consolation.
Will Nutman’s opener for Wideopen was cancelled out by Gateshead Leam Rangers’ Gordon Hutchinson with ten minutes to go.
Alnwick Town Reserves’ Stu Sullivan, Kenny Collins and Dominic Schievetta fired in at High Howdon, who netted through Chris Marshall and Luke Molloy.
Goals from James Bowman and Dan Igo after the break saw Swalwell ease past Newton Aycliffe Turbina in the Durham FA Minor Cup.

Northern Alliance Round Up 21/09/13



Derek Graham struck twice as Wallsend Town went top of the table with a storming win over Whitley Bay A.
Lee Garwood, Paul Mills and Paul McHutcheon got the others with Connor Johnson netting the reply.
Matty Hayton grabbed a hat-trick in Walker Central’s victory over Killingworth Station. John Robson netted the fourth will Lee Donnelly scoring for Station.
Ian Cumersky, Darren Addison and Rob McCartney slotted home for Carlisle City before Ian Lee pulled one back for Blyth Town and Sam Walton’s penalty put Wallington in front against Ashington Colliers – but goals from Jarvis King, Joe Moscrop (2) and Ross Gair gave the black and whites the points.
Sammy Craig’s late winner gave Red House Farm victory over Seaton Delaval and Mark Worrall’s double for Northbank was cancelled out by strikes from Aiden McCafferty and Alex Lovatt in reply.
Joe Betts also struck twice for Percy Main as they raced into a three goal lead against Rutherford. Chris Laidlaw got the other with Danny Hill and Sean Wilkinson netting for the visitors after the break.
Stocksfield had Glen Caygill, Ben Dibb-Fuller and Adrian Sutcliffe on target as they knocked Shankhouse out of the Bay Plastics Challenge Cup.
Luke Strangeway’s double helped put Wooler on top of Division One as they inflicted a first defeat on Newcastle Chemfica. Ian Hutchinson pulled one back.
Liam Henderson struck three times in Gateshead Redheugh’s 7-4 win over Birtley Saint Josephs to move into second. Andy May, John Dewhirst, Zak Atkinson and Alan Pegram also fired home with Anthony Smith (2), Dan Irving and Lee Cuthbertson replying in a fast-paced and exciting encounter.
Newcastle Uni banged in ten at Hexham. Jesse Walkin was a hat-trick hero with Jacob Salisbury (2), Joe Watson, Jonathon Sexton, Ben Wheeler, Charlie Pilkington and Robbie Sweet adding the others. Neil McDonald scored for the shell-shocked Tynedalers.
Johnny Wyres and Jasper Scott both bagged braces for North Shields Athletic in their victory at Willington Quay Saints. Anthony Keith and Mark Shields got the others with Kane Chirnside and Grant Starling notched replies.
Lee Waugh hit two late goals for New Fordley to add to Mark Waite’s opener in their win over Gosforth Bohs and Stu Kyle, Sean Anderson and Adam Shanks also left it late to net for Cramlington Town against Heddon, who struck thanks to Connor Brown.
Bedlington Terriers Reserves went out of the Archers of Blyth George Dobbins League Cup at the first hurdle in extra time against Second Division Newcastle Benfield Reserves.
Carl Sayer, Davey Carr, Simon Cunningham and Andy Welsh netted for Terriers but goals from Andrew McBride, Aiden Bell, Stephen Thompson, Max Kirkham and Chris Thompson won it for Benfield.
Dan Long grabbed five goals in Blyth Isabella’s 12-1 mauling of Cramlington United.
Andrew Haigh and Che Aisbitt got two each and Paul Huck, Dan Carr and Jake Miller piled on the misery. Ben Jobson struck at the other end.
Table toppers Longbenton had Peter Webster, David Short, Anthony Brown (2) and Rob Woods on the scoresheet at Grainger park, whose scorer was Nathan Lowdon, while John Bone’s goal for AFC Newbiggin gave them a narrow victory over Gateshead Leam Rangers.
Nicky Whitelaw slammed in a treble and Michael Starkie claimed two more as Wallsend Boys Club hit seven without reply at Wideopen. Karl Morrison and David Coulson grabbed the others.
Danny Igo, James Bowman, Chris Watson and Dan Milnes netted for Swalwell as they beat West Allotment Celtic A, who pulled two back late on through Ben Jackson and James Walker.
Liam Donnelly, Alex Eleazar, Adam Bravey and Andy Smith crashed in for Whitburn Athletic at Seaton Burn, who grabbed a consolation from Andrew Bennett.
Chopwell pulled off an exciting 5-4 extra time win over High Howdon in the Bluefin Group Amateur Cup. Derek Waters put away two penalties and John Meadows, Ryan Lowes and Stuart Rook got the others.

Northern Alliance Round Up 14/09/13



Jordan Miller’s last gasp penalty put Percy Main into the Second Round of the Bay Plastics Challenge Cup.
Dan Murray took just 8 seconds to fire visitors Hebburn Reyrolle ahead when he latched onto a stray backpass and slotted home.
Chris Laidlaw levelled in the 52nd minute and Miller got on the end of a cross to steer the Villagers ahead with just four minutes to go.
Reyrolle had a men dismissed but Steven Cockburn equalised with a fine individual goal in the 89th minute.
However, three minutes into injury time Joe Betts was fouled in the box and Miller stepped up to put the Main through.
Joe Moscrop fired Ashington Colliers ahead at Walker Central after 4 minutes but Steve Hurd levelled from the penalty spot in the 34th minute.
Central supersub George Weatherby came off the bench and crashed in the winner in the 87th minute from a goalmouth scramble.
Wallington raced into a 3-0 lead at Wallsend Town with goals from Justin Millican, John Paxton and a Sam Walton penalty. Town were reduced to ten men but made the visitors sweat for the final whistle as Christopher Garwood pulled two back.
Sam Moore hit the only goal of the game for Rutherford at Northbank to secure a spot in the next round.
Andrew Robertson’s double put Whitley Bay through, with Michael Bowman netting a penalty for visitors Killingworth Station and Red House Farm came from behind to see off Seaton Delaval in extra time. Ray Oshin shot the visitors ahead but Tom Phillips levelled and goals from Shane Brooks, Lee Brady and Theo Bondswell in the added period put Farm into the hat.
Carlisle City’s Peter Ferris and Dan Gawith both hit doubles in a big win over Stocksfield in the only League game. Darren Addison, and subs Mark Graham and Rob McCartney got the others with Ben Dibb-Fuller hitting a consolation.
Bohemians crashed in ELEVEN without reply at Heddon in the Bay Plastics Combination Cup. Darren Campbell and Iain Harris both grabbed hat-tricks with Tavis Couling, Daniel Ure, Alex Kennedy, Daniel Sanderson and Stephen Salter all getting in on the act.
Scott Jasper also netted a treble in North Shields Athletic’s success against Willington Quay Saints. Liam Climpson and John Wyres got the others with Gareth Pugh and Kane Chirnside replying.
Anthony Smith hit two for Birtley Saint Josephs at New Fordley, with Damien Stevens getting the other, while goals from Joe Watson and Michael Spencer saw Newcastle Uni through at Cullercoats.
Christian Priest’s penalty got Cramlington Town on their way against Bedlington Terriers Reserves with Ross Gilchrist adding two more and Ian Sinclair netting a late consolation and Dieu Lomana, Martin Dixon and Steve McLaughlin scored for Newcastle Chemfica against Hexham, who had Scott Robson on target.
Wooler advanced against Ponteland United after extra time. The Glendale side had Stuart Bertram, Kevin Bell, Fraser Tait and an own goal on the scoresheet with Thomas Skidmore and Peter Scott the United scorers.
Alnwick Town Reserves also won in extra time as they advanced in the Blue Fin Group Amateur Cup at the expense of Longbenton.
Stuart Sullivan (2), Kenny Collins and Dom Schievetta hit the target for the black and whites whith Ant Brown hitting a double in reply while Lewis Conroy struck a 65th minute winner for Gateshead Leam Rangers at AFC Newbiggin.
Wallsend Boys Club went ahead through Nicky Whitelaw and when visitors Cramlington United were reduced to ten men after the break, Michael Starkie added a second to send Boys Club through.
Stephen Thompson crashed in a treble for Newcastle Benfield Reserves in an exciting extra time win at West Allotment Celtic A. Chris Thompson got the 115th minute winner, with Jason Nicholson and Ben Jackson (2) the Celtic marksmen.
Andrew Bennett also plundered a hat-trick for Seaton Burn as they saw off Swalwell. Craig Jackson, Andrew Bennett and Jonathon Sutcliffe got the others and James Bowman, Danny Igo and Daniel Miles struck at the other end.
Dan Carr (2), Andrew Howe and Paul Huck fired in for Blyth Isabella in their victory over Wideopen, whose reply came from Will Nutman, and goals from Dwayne Murray and Robert Jefferson saw Grainger Park win at Whitburn, who had Alexander Eleazar on target.

Northern Alliance Round Up 07/09/13



Malcolm Morien hit a hat-trick for the third successive week as Blyth Town romped to an 8-1 win at Hebburn Reyrolle.
Mark Andrews, Connor Andrews, Dan Beresford and Ian Lee got the others with Jordan Bolton netting a consolation.
Wallsend Town had Paul Gordon and Paul McHutcheon on target in their win over Killingworth Station, who replied through Lee Hamilton while Sam Grieveson and Matty Hayton scored for Walker Central in their win at Rutherford, who had levelled through Will Forsyth.
Second Division Wallsend Boys Club sent Seaton Delaval crashing out of the Archers of Blyth George Dobbins League Cup on penalties. Man of the match Michael Starkie netted twice for Wallsend, with Andy Potter and Adam Tierney getting the others. Liam Vaughan, Michael McMullen, Matthew Bailey and Stephen Howes were on target for Delaval.
First Division Longbenton as pulled off a shock as beat Percy Main with a goal in each half from David Short and Rob Wood.
Matthew Lavender shot Blyth Isabella ahead at Ashington Colliers but the black and whites turned things around with goals from Brent Aisbitt and Ross Gair while Shankhouse were also trailing to a goal from West Allotment Celtic A’s Ben Jackson, but late strikes from Josh Walsh and Lee Gustard put the Premier Division side through.
Second half goals from Justin Millican and Jake Walton saw Wallington past High Howdon while doubles from Tom Phillips and Theo Bondswell helped Red House Farm to a 6-0 success against Wideopen.
The big Carlisle derby was settled by a goal from Northbank’s Stuart Bell to send rivals City crashing out while Kane White (2), Phil Murray and Ben Dibb-Fuller netted for Stocksfield at Cramlington United.
Damien Stevens netted a treble in Birtley Saint Joseph’s victory over Newbiggin. Chris Morris got the other with Richie Kennedy and Ross Muter giving the Seasiders hope with a quick-fire double.
Gareth Pugh also hit a hat-trick in Willington Quay Saints win at Grainger Park. John Foggett added to the tally and Max Zaborovs bagged a brace for North Shields Athletic as they advanced at the expense of Swalwell. John Wyres, Scott Jasper, Liam Climpson and Chris Chang got the others, with James Bowman striking a double in reply.
Lee Waugh was another double ace for New Fordley in their win over Cullercoats. Zak Tully and Craig Dunn got the others, Jonathon Ranson and Stphen Moat replying.
Jay Dieu Lomana hit two for Newcastle Chemfica at Whitburn, who struck back through Adam Bravey.
Wooler went second in Division Two as they hit five at Gosforth Bohs. Mark Forrest, Stephen Hutchinson, Michael Saunders, Luke Strangeways and Kevin Bell all found the target with Darren Campbell (2) and Chris Toye scoring at the other end in an exciting game. Bedlington Terriers Reserves also hit five at Ponteland. Jon-James Eke, Andy Mogwo, Calum Donohoe (2) and Simon Scobie piled on the misery for Ponteland United, who had Craig Cook grab a consolation.
First half goals from Hexham’s Gavin Cox, Liam Heenan and Stuart Brown looked to have put them on easy street against Heddon, but the hosts produced an amazing turnaround to claim their first points of the season with a Kyle Fradgley hat-trick and a last minute winner from Andrew Davidson.
Andy May, Liam Hendrum and Kevin Hay scored for Redheugh in their win at the Uni.
Chopwell are the new leaders in Division Two as Derek Waters netted twice against Alnwick Town Reserves. John Meadows tapped in the other from close range.
Newcastle Benfield Reserves’ Chris Thompson claimed a hat-trick in a thrilling win over Seaton Burn. Steve Thompson and Andy McBride grabbed the others with Dave Hewitt and Andrew Bennett scoring at the other end.

Northern Alliance Round Up 31/08/13



Malcolm Morien smashed in SIX times as Blyth Town turned around a 2-0 deficit to beat Killingworth Station 7-2.
A Michael Bowman penalty and Michael Turner shot had put Station in charge at the break, but David Atkinson pulled one back from the spot – then it was the Morien show.
Jordan Miller hit the only goal at Ashington Colliers in the 71st minute to give Percy Main their first points of the season. Miller let fly from 25 yards to win it.
Paul Gordon and Chris Garwood netted in the first half to give Wallsend Town victory at Walker Central and Paul Newton-Eddy, Mark Sheeran and Martin Souslby were on target for Red House Farm at Northbank, who had Mark Worrall pull one back from the penalty spot.
Stephen Howe struck twice in injury time to hand Seaton Delaval a thrilling win over Carlisle City. Michael McMullen hit the other with Simon Tucker and Robert McCartney scoring for the Sky Blues.
Connor Johnson’s 53rd opener for Whitley Bay A was cancelled out by a leveller from Shankhouse’s Lee Gustard in the 74th minute.
Steve McLaughlin and Dean Laycock both struck twice for Division One leaders Newcastle Chemfica Independent at New Fordley, who ran them close with goals from Lee Waugh (2) and Zak Tully.
North Shields Athletic’s Sean Millington hit a hat-trick in their win at Cullercoats while James Peel, Stuart Brown and Liam Heenan netted for Hexham at Gosforth Bohs, who pulled one back through Tavis Couling.
Gareth Pearson bagged a brace in Wooler’s victory over Birtley Saint Joseph’s, with Stephen Hutchins also on target and Anthony Smith notching the consolation.
Robbie Eastway, Simon Scobie and Simon Cunningham scored Bedlington Terriers Reserves goals as they beat Willington Quay Saints.
Forest Hall have tended their resignation from Division One.
Darren Burn’s late double put AFC Newbiggin back on top of Division Two.
Wallsend Boys Club led thanks to Michael Starkie’s strike, but Burn turned things around and it ended all-square in the other game at the top with Robert Woods and Chris Sword netting for Longbenton against Gateshead Leam Rangers, who levelled courtesy of Tom Williams and Nicky Lowther.
Chopwell hit six at West Allotment Celtic A. John Meadow, a James Corney own goal, Kevin Reagan, Andrew Smith, Craig Forster and Dean Owen made up the tally with James Walker (2) and Matt Slater successful at the other end.
High Howdon’s Nick McDonald and Jason Walsh scored against Wideopen, who claimed a precious point thanks to goals from Kev Ord and Paul Henderson.
Nathan Lowdon, Shaun Sager, Robert Jefferson and Paul Fradgley were celebrating strikes in Grainger Park’s success at Newcastle Benfied Reserves, who had Chris Thompson on the scoresheet, while goals from Collins and Hall saw Alnwick Town Reserves edge out Cramlington United, who scored courtesy of Waite.
Danny Igo and Shaun Stonehouse crashed in for Swalwell at Seaton Burn, who pulled one back thanks to Dave Hewitt’s late penalty while Isabella took the points at Whitburn.
