Pin Point Recruitment Bill Gardner Memorial Trophy Final

Walker Central 2 Wallsend Town 3

Paul Gordon netted twice as Wallsend Town retained the Bill Gardner Memorial Trophy at Purvis Park.
The game exploded into life after a goalless opening period when Gordon headed home just a minute after the break.
Walker levelled ten minutes later when substitute Anthony Lowry’s cross-shot flew into the corner of the net.
Town went back in front in the 71st minute when Chris Garwood rose to power in a header from a corner and seven minutes later they extended their lead as Gordon crashed in a shot from inside the box.
The game was set up for an exciting last six minutes when Paul Collinson reduced the deficit from the penalty spot, but Wallsend held out to lift the trophy for the second successive season.
