Blyth
Town turned up the heat
at the top of the Premier Division as they extended their unbeaten run to
thirteen games.
Craig Johnson fired the opener into the top corner against
Hebburn Reyrolle and although the visitors put up a fight, David Atkinson
nodded in number two late on and Kyle Devlin added the third with five minutes
to go.
Liam Harris (2), Paolo Black and Craig Brown netted for
Whitley Bay A in their win against Shankhouse, who had Chris Rue and Jordan
Walsh on target and a solitary late goal from Ian Irving gave Seaton Delaval
the points against Walker Central.
Callum Benson, Liam Callaghan and Darren Walsh crashed in
for Killingworth Sporting but Percy Main’s Chris Glass (2) and Scott
Pocklington netted at the other end to earn a draw.
A double from Jordan Watson and Marty Hepple strike saw Cramlington Town ease past Newcastle Uni – and back
to the top of Division One.
Ollie Driver also struck twice for Northbank in their
success against basement side Morpeth
Town A, with Jamie Hope,
Aaron Roberts and Cameron Wilson getting the other. A Gavin Lowes own goal gave
Town a consolation, while Newcastle Chemfica hit-man Steve McLaughlin crashed
in five in a 6-0 drubbing of Forest Hall. Tito Davison grabbed the other while
Iain Harris’s strike gave Bohs three points against Willington Quay Saints.
Robbie Black’s goal for Bedlington Terriers Reserves wasn’t
enough as Cullercoats struck twice to take the points.
North Shields Athletic took pole position in Division Two
with goals from Craig Boyle (2), John Wyres and Anth Etherington at Grainger Park, who netted through Tony Leach and
Robert Jefferson.
Wideopen kept their promotion push on track as they hit
Alston for six. Ross Dickinson and David Gabbitus both bagged braces with Chris
Sword and Leigh Shickle chipping in while Jason Williams notched the
consolation.
Jason Walsh and Tony Johnson were on target for High Howdon
as they shared a point with Wallsend Boys Club, whose scorers were Jed Finlay
and Michael Starkie.
Paul Hodgson took just two minutes to fire Ponteland United
ahead at Heddon in the Pin Point recruitment Combination Cup semi final.
Heddon levelled through Andrew Davison but late goals from
Richard Kent and Billy Holden (pen) took the black and whites through to a
final meeting with Red House Farm, who just edged out Redheugh.
Paul Newton-Eddy struck twice and Lee Brady was also celebrating
with Kev Hay banging in a double for the hosts.
Heaton Stannington will play United in the Northumberland FA
Senior Benevolent Bowl as Lee Johnson banged in a couple at Stocksfield and
Gary Dixon got the other. Adrian Sutcliffe’s strike couldn’t force the issue
for the Griffins.
