Forget TV’s Paul McKenna – Heaton Stannington hit-man Lawrence McKenna’s last-minute moment of magic won the Kicks Leisure George Dobbins League Cup.
With a pulsating game seemingly heading for extra time after both sides had created and squandered chances, rattled the woodwork and seen some top class saves from both goalkeepers, McKenna appeared at the back post to tuck a deep cross into the back of the net.
