Northern Alliance Round Up 31/08/13



Malcolm Morien smashed in SIX times as Blyth Town turned around a 2-0 deficit to beat Killingworth Station 7-2.
A Michael Bowman penalty and Michael Turner shot had put Station in charge at the break, but David Atkinson pulled one back from the spot – then it was the Morien show.
Jordan Miller hit the only goal at Ashington Colliers in the 71st minute to give Percy Main their first points of the season. Miller let fly from 25 yards to win it.
Paul Gordon and Chris Garwood netted in the first half to give Wallsend Town victory at Walker Central and Paul Newton-Eddy, Mark Sheeran and Martin Souslby were on target for Red House Farm at Northbank, who had Mark Worrall pull one back from the penalty spot.
Stephen Howe struck twice in injury time to hand Seaton Delaval a thrilling win over Carlisle City. Michael McMullen hit the other with Simon Tucker and Robert McCartney scoring for the Sky Blues.
Connor Johnson’s 53rd opener for Whitley Bay A was cancelled out by a leveller from Shankhouse’s Lee Gustard in the 74th minute.
Steve McLaughlin and Dean Laycock both struck twice for Division One leaders Newcastle Chemfica Independent at New Fordley, who ran them close with goals from Lee Waugh (2) and Zak Tully.
North Shields Athletic’s Sean Millington hit a hat-trick in their win at Cullercoats while James Peel, Stuart Brown and Liam Heenan netted for Hexham at Gosforth Bohs, who pulled one back through Tavis Couling.
Gareth Pearson bagged a brace in Wooler’s victory over Birtley Saint Joseph’s, with Stephen Hutchins also on target and Anthony Smith notching the consolation.
Robbie Eastway, Simon Scobie and Simon Cunningham scored Bedlington Terriers Reserves goals as they beat Willington Quay Saints.
Forest Hall have tended their resignation from Division One.
Darren Burn’s late double put AFC Newbiggin back on top of Division Two.
Wallsend Boys Club led thanks to Michael Starkie’s strike, but Burn turned things around and it ended all-square in the other game at the top with Robert Woods and Chris Sword netting for Longbenton against Gateshead Leam Rangers, who levelled courtesy of Tom Williams and Nicky Lowther.
Chopwell hit six at West Allotment Celtic A. John Meadow, a James Corney own goal, Kevin Reagan, Andrew Smith, Craig Forster and Dean Owen made up the tally with James Walker (2) and Matt Slater successful at the other end.
High Howdon’s Nick McDonald and Jason Walsh scored against Wideopen, who claimed a precious point thanks to goals from Kev Ord and Paul Henderson.
Nathan Lowdon, Shaun Sager, Robert Jefferson and Paul Fradgley were celebrating strikes in Grainger Park’s success at Newcastle Benfied Reserves, who had Chris Thompson on the scoresheet, while goals from Collins and Hall saw Alnwick Town Reserves edge out Cramlington United, who scored courtesy of Waite.
Danny Igo and Shaun Stonehouse crashed in for Swalwell at Seaton Burn, who pulled one back thanks to Dave Hewitt’s late penalty while Isabella took the points at Whitburn.

Northern Alliance Round Up 24/08/13



Killingworth Station extended their winning run at the top to five games as Liam Callaghan took advantage of a defensive mix-up to roll in the winner with just five minutes to go at Hebburn Reyrolle, who also missed a penalty.
Whitley Bay A’s Andrew Robertson netted his 8th of the season against Northbank before Gav Hattrick added two more late in the game.
Rutherford led Stocksfield with goals from Sam Moore and James Keelan, who was delighted to net against his former club on his 31st birthday. The Griffins hit back as Ben Pearson grabbed a double, but Rutherford won it in the 75th minute courtesy of Sean Wilkinson’s thunderbolt 25 yard free kick.
A close range Stuart Kilgour header and a Peter Ferris volley gave Carlisle City the points against Ashington Colliers while strikes from Paul Mills (2) and Hugh Donnison put Wallsend Town in control against Shankhouse, who hit back twice late on through a Lee Gustard penalty and Alan Lodge shot, but suffered their first defeat of the season.
Malcolm Morien had his shooting boots on and claimed a hat-trick in Blyth Town’s seven goal drubbing of Seaton Delaval. Daniel Beresford added two more with Scott Pocklington and Chris Lyle also crashing in, Michael Fenwick and Michael Scott’s strikes proving scant consolation.
Walker Central left it late to take the three points at Wallington with Phil McCoy firing home in the last minute. They had gone in front when the unlucky Ben Fenwick put into his own net, but Josh Gilmartin levelled.
Steve McLaughlin’s double ensured that Newcastle Chemfica Independent maintained their 100% record at the top of Division One, with Ryan Davenport pulling one back for Gateshead Redheugh.
Cramlington Town’s Adam Shanks also fired in a double at Gosforth Bohs, with Marc Nixon grabbing the other and Andrew Dalton netting twice in reply. Ponteland United claimed their first win of the season as they hit Forest Hall for six.
Craig Cook (2), Michael Rankin, Liam Anderson, Andrew Davidson and Thomas Skidmore were all celebrating, with Dominic Shanley scoring at the other end.
Lee Waugh netted a hat-trick for New Fordley in their good win at North Shields Athletic, who had Max Zaborors on target and goals from Scott Andrews and Steve Moat handed Cullercoats victory over Wooler.
Andrew Breheny’s brace and a single strike from Andrew Bruce handed Willington Quay saints the points against Hexham, who replied through Alistair Davison while goals from Kevin Rainbow and Ross MacKay for Bedlington Terriers Reserves were cancelled out by strikes from Shaun Todhunter and Damien Stevens for Birtley Saint Josephs.
David Hetherington struck seven minutes from time as Longbenton came from behind at AFC Newbiggin to leapfrog them to the top of Division Two.
Michael Angus’s lob put the Seasiders ahead, but Chris Sword netted the equaliser for the Bulls.
Gateshead Leam Rangers kept pace with a double from Louis Meach edging out High Howdon in a five-goal thriller. Liam Grant got the other with Howdon’s goals coming from Jason Walsh and Lee Turnbull.
Cramlington United celebrated their first win of the season as Daniel Gray, Mark Nicholson and Ben Jobson fired in without reply at struggling Wideopen and although Ross Taylor struck twice for Swalwell, goals from Chris Thompson (2) and Ben Sullivan saw Newcastle Benfield Reserves take all three points.
Nathan Lowdon, Dwayne Murray and John Morgan netted for Grainger Park as they saw off West Allotment Celtic A, who grabbed a reply through Joseph Monaghan, and Kevin Regan hit the only goal of the game for Chopwell at Blyth Isabella.
Alnwick Town Reserves’ Colin Bickerton hit the back of the net at both ends in an entertaining draw with Whitburn. Kenny Collins and Stephen Hogg hit the others for Town, with Nolan and Mann punching the air for the visitors.
Wallsend Boys Club were reduced to ten men at Seaton Burn but dug in for a valuable point.

Alliance Round Up 17/08/13



Ant Burns and Scott Bowman netted late goals for Killingworth Station in their win over Carlisle City which maintained top spot.
Paul Dunn (2), James Blacklock and Matthew Lynn were Shankhouses’ hit-men as they won at Northbank to keep pace with the leaders, with Mark Worral netting twice at the other end.
David Atkinson’s hat-trick handed Blyth Town the points at Percy Main.
Joe Betts and Chris Bell scored for the Villagers but Atkinson struck a treble – including two from the penalty spot – to win it while Wallsend Town’s Gav Jones was also successful from the penalty spot with an 89th minute winner against Stocksfield.
Phil Smith and David Hall got the others and Andy Hall notched a double at the other end.
Josh Hay (2) and Lee Harker scored in Ashington Colliers success against Hebburn Reyrolle and Gateshead Rutherford’s Sam Moore put them ahead at Red House Farm, with Paul Newton-Eddy claiming the equaliser.
Goals from Stephen Howes (2) and Michael McMullen (2) made sure Seaton Delaval took the points at Walker Central.  Phil McCoy scored a consolation while late goals from Gav Hattrick and Andy Robertson handed Whitley Bay A success against Wallington.
It appears as if the defensive coaching manuals have been ignored over the summer break as the goals were raining in across the Northern Alliance.
Division One pacestters Newcastle Chemfica Independent had Steve McLaughlin (2) and Chris Homans on the scoresheet at Hexham while Adam Shanks plundered a hat-trick for high-scoring Cramlington Town against Bedlington Terriers Reserves.
Mark Nixon, Jordan Watson, Paul Innes and a Brad Jones own goal completed the rout -  Carl Sayers’ replying.
Stuart Bertram (2) Jamie Punton, Mark Forrest and Kevin Bell netted for Wooler as they saw off Heddon, and Chris Norris (2), Jamie Dixon, Paul Beat and an own goal gave Birtley Saint Josephs victory over Willington Quay Saints, John Foggett getting the sole reply.
Goals from Ponteland’s Connor Powell, Andrew Davidson and Liam Anderson were cancelled out as Dean Lees, Lee Isbister and Louis Boddy struck for New Fordley and Liam Henderson (2) and Kev Hay’s goals for Gateshead Redheugh were similarly chalked off by goals from Kevin Walker, Dean Clay and James Ridley for Cullercoats.
Anth Errington, Liam Climpson and Paul Hutchinson all fired in for North Shields Athletic in their win at Forest Hall, who hit back through Paul Ridley and Liam Brown.
AFC Newbiggin drew a blank last weekend but went goal-crazy as Darren Burn slammed in a hat-trick at Chopwell that put them top of the table.
Ross Muter (2), Jonathon McEnananey and Mason Armstrong joined in the scoring with Derek Waters (2) and Kevin Regan netting at the other end.
Jason Walsh scored two for High Howdon at Cramlington United, with Chris Phillips (pen), Nick McDonald and Liam Sword crashing in while Ross Armstrong, Michael Jordan and Mark Nicholson struck at the other end.
Grainger Park’s Nathan Lowdon claimed a treble and Chrissy Robinson and Robert Jefferson (pen) completed the scoring against Seaton Burn, who were reduced to ten men when their keeper saw red, with 16-year old Ryan Spragg netting on his debut and James Foster hitting replies.
Gateshead Leam Rangers Lewis Conroy, Tony Falconer, Liam Craig, Aaron Reynolds and Marc Conroy all scored without reply at West Allotment Celtic A  and Longbenton’s Anth Brown (2), Steven Armstrong, Chris Sword and David Hetherington all beat the Alnwick Town Reserves keeper. Paul Huck (2) and Matthew Lavender scored in Blyth Isabella’s win Blyth Isabella’s win at Wideopen and Aiden Bell netted a late winner for Newcastle Benfield Reserves at Wallsend Boys Club. Paul Bell’s scored for Whitburn Athletic but Swalwell took a point courtesy of Danny Igo’s strike.

Alliance Round Up 10/08/2013



Gateshead Rutherford’s young boss Chris Fairless has spent the summer rebuilding and was rewarded with an opening day win over Wallsend Town.
Fairless was delighted as Danny Hill struck twice and Will Forsyth and Sam Moore got the others as they raced into a 4-1 lead, with Paul Gordon netting for Town.
There were a few nervous moments as the visitors, who were reduced to ten men, hit twice more through Andy Hawthorn and Lee Garwood, but Rutherford held on for the three points – almost half their haul for last season.
Blyth Town raced to the top of the table as goals from Jason Ritchie, Josh Miller, Ian Lee and Daniel Young saw them off to a flyer at Northbank while a Jordan Nellis double helped Wallington romp to a 4-0 win over Percy Main. Josh Gilmartin and Sam Walton got the others.
Walker Central’s James Walker (pen), Alex Clafton and Carl Begbie slotted in against Red House Farm while a Micky Bowman double gave Killingworth Station the points at Seaton Delaval.
Chris Rue finished a good move to put Shankhouse ahead against Hebburn Reyrolle and Paul Dunn doubled the advantage with Bede Finnegan netting a consolation while Simon Tucker’s 20 yard drive to open for Carlisle City was cancelled out by a late Andrew Robertson leveller for Whitley Bay A.
Gateshead Redheugh’s Kev Hay had his shooting boots on and helped himself to four in an 8-1 romp at Heddon that swept them to the top of Division One.
Liam Henderson struck a double with Robert Frame and an own goal completing the rout. Andrew Davison grabbed the consolation.
Wooler’s Mark Forrest struck a last-gasp winner as they came from behind at Willington Quay Saints to take the points. Dale Johnson’s penalty put Saints in front but Luke Strangeways levelled – then Forrest netted in the 90th minute.
Birtley Saint Joseph’s Martin Guy also scored in the dying seconds to claim a point at ten man Ponteland United, who led with goals from John Dunn, Liam Anderson and Peter Scott, with Lee Cuthbertson and Guy getting the others for the visitors.
Matthew Robinson, Andrew Dalton and Tavis Couling struck for Gosforth Bohs in their success against Forest Hall while Garrick Murphy-Collins struck twice in Newcastle Chemfica Independent’s narrow victory over Bedlington Terriers reserves.
Steve McLaughlin hit the other with John Barret and Josh Laverick replying.
Hexham won 4-3 at North Shields Athletic and Cramlington Town were 3-2 winners over Cullercoats.
Chopwell got off to a flyer in Division Two as they won a nine-goal thriller at Grainger Park – with Alan Rennison crashing home four times. Craig Willis got the other with Dwayn Murray (2) and John Somerville (2) replying in an end-to-end encounter.
Chris Sword netted a double at Whitburn during Longbenton’s 4-1 success, with Alex Nesbit and Phil Sharpe getting the others while Nicky Whitelaw’s brace helped Wallsend Boys Club to success at High Howdon. James Garwood got the other, Jason Walsh netting at the other end. Dan Long was another two-goal hero for Blyth Isabella as they saw off West Allotment Celtic A, with Todd Musgrove also finding the net. Dan Haggerstone notched the consolation while a goal in each half from James Bowman and Danny Igo saw Swalwell see off Wideopen. It finished all square at Newcastle Benfield Reserves, who had Andy McBride on target against Alnwick Town Reserves, who replied through Lee Armstrong.
Gateshead Leam Rangers got off to a good start with goals from Lewis Conroy and Tony Falconer giving them three points against Cramlington United, while neither side could break the deadlock and it ended in a goalless stalemate between AFC Newbiggin and Seaton Burn.
